The Geneva Music Festival was founded in 2011 by violinist Geoffrey Herd in an effort to enhance our cultural community by bringing internationally acclaimed musicians to the Finger Lakes region. Its goal is to entertain, inspire and nurture a lifelong appreciation of classical music throughout the community. Its mission is to promote the fine arts by bringing innovative world class performances to the region, engage a wide range of audiences and provide opportunities for enrichment to people of all ages. Since its inception, the festival has presented concerts in 3 different cities across the Northern Finger Lakes Region. Education of children is an important priority and special attention is given to reaching the youngest of audiences. Each year several performances are offered free of charge at local public schools. In addition, students 18 years and under are given free admission to all concerts..
