Hyun Soo Kim

Pianist Hyun Soo Kim has performed extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and South Korea. A much sought-after collaborative artist, Kim has performed with eminent artists such as Jaime Laredo, Sharon Robinson and members of the Cavani Quartet, Miami Quartet, Cleveland Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, and Boston Symphony, among others. He frequently has partnered in recitals with violinist Jinjoo Cho and violist Yu Jin, as well as talented young musicians in the Greater Cleveland area. He performs more than 50 recitals annually.

Concerts have brought him to such venues as Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium, Merkin Hall in New York City, Chicago Cultural Center, Dallas City Performance Hall, Rolston Hall at Banff Centre, Auer Hall at Indiana University, Olin Hall at Bard College, Kumho Arts Hall, and Seoul Arts Center. He has performed in numerous chamber music series including La Jolla Music Society, Myra Hess Memorial Concerts, Chamber Music International in Dallas, Hudson Valley Chamber Circle, Indiana University’s Summer String Academy, Indianapolis Violin Competition Laureate Series, Linton Chamber Music in Cincinnati,
Tuesday Musical Club Kulas Concert Series in Akron and Big Arts Sanibel Island in Florida, Brattleboro Music Center in Vermont, Mercyhurst University Roche Visiting Artists Series, The Musical Arts Series in Port Clinton, Music from the Western Reserve in Hudson, Wooster College Chamber Music Series and Tri-Institutional Noon Recitals at Rockefeller University in NYC and Arts Renaissance Tremont in Cleveland.

A native of South Korea, Mr. Kim is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music and University of Delaware, where he studied with Anita Pontremoli and Christine Delbeau.

He was a recipient of the John D. Martini Scholarship (University of Delaware) and Rosa Lobe Collaborative Piano Award (Cleveland Institute of Music). He currently is a member of the Collaborative Piano Staff at the Cleveland Institute of Music and Kent State University. Additionally, he is the admissions director at ENCORE Chamber Music and serves as a collaborative piano faculty.

Internationally acclaimed violinist Jinjoo Cho joins GMF’s exceptional line up of artists for chamber music concerts in Geneva and Skaneateles.
