Inspired by the art of storytelling, Syndee’s latest writing project celebrates the life of American Icon, Lena Horne, in a one- woman play with music entitled, LENA: A Moment with a Lady. Through words and music, “Lena”, portrayed by Syndee Winters, attempts to relay the most pivotal personal and professional moments in her life. On a mission to share the truth, she unlocks emotional crevices that have eluded her for years.

Syndee would be nowhere without her love of music. As a singer/ songwriter, reflections of The Fugees, The Marleys, Michael Jackson, and Sarah Vaughn appear in her original work. She has worked with artists Snoop Dogg Big Daddy Kane, writing and performing on 4 tracks on the 2009 album The Bridge by Legendary DJ Grandmaster Flash. Her single, “Focus” is now available, on iTunes.

In her spare time, Syndee is passionate about working with young people. She makes time to teach master- classes, workshops and private lessons to young artists. “It’s crucial to affect possibility into a young person’s life. I’ve had many people influence my journey, and it has made me the person that I am today.”
