On Saturday, March 11, the Geneva Music Festival (GMF) will present its 2017 Spring Benefit Gala, including a performance by GMF artists-in-residence Geoffrey Herd (violin), Eric Wong (viola), Max Geissler (cello) and Cahill Smith (piano). This evening of food, Hermann J. Weimer wine and world-class music will begin at 6 p.m., in Froelich Hall of the Gearan Center for Performing Arts, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, 327 Pulteney St., Geneva.
The 2017 Geneva Music Festival will take place from June 1-18. Founded in 2011, the festival has presented chamber, Latin American, bluegrass and other diverse sounds to audiences throughout the Finger Lakes Region. This summer, GMF will again offer a wide range of genres through world-class talent such as Jin Joo Cho, Cavani Quartet, Raymond Nagem and GMF alums Christopher Janwong McKiggan, Clive Greensmith and Ani Kavafian. There also will be a celebration of jazz with two unique concerts that reflect a wide array of influences, including traditional American, Latin American and chamber-jazz fusion. La Voz De Tres and the Thomas Bergeron Quartet will be joined by Paul McCandless for this special series.
Cost of the Gala is $50 per ticket. For more information, call Fran Herd at 315-326-1951, email info@genevamusicfestival.com
