On Saturday, March 24, the Geneva Music Festival (GMF) will present its 2018 Spring Benefit Gala, including a performance of Mendelssohn’s romantic Piano Trio in D minor by Geoffrey Herd (violin), Max Geissler (cello) and Zahari Metchkov (piano). This evening of food, Hermann J. Wiemer wine, desserts and world-class music will begin at 6 p.m., in Froelich Hall of the Gearan Center for Performing Arts, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, 327 Pulteney St., Geneva.
The Geneva Music Festival’s 2018 Season will take place from May 31 through June 17, and promises to be exciting, moving and inspirational. Audiences will enjoy the return of Herd and Geissler as well as violinist Jinjoo Cho, pianist Hyun-soo Kim, organist Ray Nagem, violinist Eliot Heaton, cellist Hannah Collins, violinist Shawn Moore, and the Cavani Quartet, among others. From June 3 through 9, GMF will feature “Music, Poetry and Perspectives: A Celebration of African American Culture,” diverse performances of music, poetry and monologues representative of African American culture, including one artist’s perspective on the civil rights movement.
