“We’re thrilled to be able to bring so many of our audience’s favorite performers to the region in one season,” says Geoffrey Herd, director of the Geneva Music Festival. “Many will be arriving from some of the biggest stages in the world to celebrate our tenth year and show their appreciation for our wonderful venues and audiences.”
Among the returning artists are Jinjoo Cho, Clive Greensmith, Eric Wong, Ettore Causa, Michelle Cann, Ani Kavafian, Kirsten Docter, Esther Park, JP Jofre, and La Vos De Tres. The ATLYS quartet will again help GMF fulfill the outreach and educational portion of its mission with shows and classes in the Finger Lakes community.
New in 2020, audiences can look forward to the Ulysses Quartet, with returning GMF violist Colin Brookes, presenting works in celebration of Beethoven’s birthday. The Ulysses String Quartet has been praised for their “textural versatility,” “grave beauty,” “the kind of chemistry many quartets long for, but rarely achieve” (The Strad) as well as “avid enthusiasm … [with] chops to back up their passion” and a “vibrant sonority” (SanDiegoStory.com). Earlier this year, they were named Graduate Quartet-in-Residence at the Juilliard School.
The 2020 Season will begin with the Annual Benefit on March 14. More information and ticket sales will be on the Geneva Music Festival’s website as soon as they are available.
