GMF 2022 Season Review

< A SEASON OF NEW BEGINNINGS>

MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Dear GMF Community,

I hope you enjoyed our 2022 season. For me, it was a meaningful season, exploring both well-known masterpieces and less frequently heard music, as we searched for works that set new trends in the scope of music history. Studying, rehearsing, and performing this music in our beautiful city, amongst close friends and dear colleagues, helped me to recognize how much I have to be grateful for despite the challenges we face today. I hope the Festival similarly provided you with a time of positive reflection and that you enjoyed greeting the new and returning faces of Festival musicians, exploring the charming venues, and (most importantly) hearing the wonderfully diverse music.

As always, I’m deeply appreciative for the ongoing support of our patrons, volunteers, sponsors, and hard-working board of directors that make the Geneva Music Festival possible. While the season flew by quickly, please know we are already planning our events for next year and are eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to perform for you once again.

Until then, I hope you all have a wonderful summer and that the melodies and harmonies that you heard during our 2022 season remain memorable.

Warmest Wishes,

Geoffrey Herd
